Birds > Passerine > Red-breasted flycatcher Ficedula parva

info

FINALLY! Many times walking through the woods I looked for red-breasted flycatcher without any result. I could not take pictures, except documentary one. Even its documentary value, however, was so small that the picture was not published on my website. And here again it was Kerem who walking in the park and searching for krüper's nuthatch pointed out the place where he could hear red-breasted flycatcher. I waited a moment and taking the first, but very beautiful photo of this charming birdie became a reality. Birdie, as the weight of this flycatcher is about 10 grams and a wingspan of about 20 centimeters. So it is much smaller than our sparrow. Later I managed to take a picture of the female flycatcher.

Finally, after 9 years, my long-awaited meeting with the Red-breasted flycatcher took place. The so far documentary gallery received a very good status. Finally, because to have a documentary gallery of such a beautiful Red-breasted flycatcher gave me no reason for satisfaction. There is no problem with finding the Lesser Spotted Flycatcher, provided that the bird lives where you look for it. In Wielkopolska region, I have listened many times in the forest and, unfortunately, did not manage to find a Lesser Spotted Flycatcher. Male flycatchers sing beautifully and it is easy to identify their voice and find one. In the forest of Krzysztof, the host of the photography workshop, one can say that there is a veritable accumulation of these birds. Along the forest road, a singing male could be heard every 100-200 metres. A very good quality recording of the voice was made and added to the gallery. Once the birds are there, it is fair to say that there is no problem taking photos. Unfortunately, this is not true of the Red-breasted flycatchers. Despite the beautiful weather, it was difficult to get good lighting conditions in the woods and high ISO settings had to be used, which still did not give comfort with exposure times. Fortunately, there were many encounters and from the hundreds of photos we managed to select the most interesting ones, of good quality, which finally show the whole charm of the Red-breasted flycatcher. A gallery of very good status with a soundtrack of a male Red-breasted flycatcher singing - FINALLY!
Although I managed to improve the content of many galleries during this trip (list below), it was the Red-breasted flycatcher that was most important to me during this trip. For these reasons, the keynote text has been added to the gallery of this species and not to the Osprey gallery, which at Christopher's is the most important species, during the photographic workshops organised. It is good that there are still such places in Poland, where there are so many animal species around, that one has to think about what to devote time to photographing. This time is, as usual, in short supply. I used to go to Krzysztof's every year, so to speak, and in fact it has been six years since my last visit to this beautiful place. The forest shelter allowed me to photograph a dozen or so bird species and a mammal species new to me, the raccoon.
Traditionally, in the information of each gallery created or changed from the next photographic expedition, there is a list of galleries in which changes took place and one new gallery - the gallery of the Raccoon - was added. The list is also a collection of links to these galleries. If the name of a species is followed in brackets by the letter T, a text is added to the gallery and V, a sound recording of the species is added.
