info

As I mentioned earlier, pheasants, similarly to bucks (male deer), make a lot of noise when they realize they have been spotted by a man. Sounds made by bucks can be compared to the sound of an angry dog. These days you can often see small herds of deers in the fields but trying to approach them is a very difficult task. What is important is to have a good ambush which will allow you to take satisfactory photos. During my walks in the forest, I didn’t manage to see a little fawn which often lies all day, hidden somewhere in the bush. Its mother stays close to her ‘baby’, without exposing its location, coming back only in the time of feeding.

I added a few photos. Some of them were taken on my way to a fish pond, where I intended to choose a place for the next day’s morning photography session. Not leaving the interior of my car, hardly moving, I took a few pictures. Roe deer were not disturbed by my presence. Unfortunately it was quite early in the morning and the roe deer mummy with her young fared rather sad. The pictures taken later that morning fared better. The colors and shades were radically different. An interesting thing to know is that the roe deer allowed me to significantly reduce the distance between me and her. Not straightening up I was approaching her very slowly. From the initial distance of 100 meters to just about 50. It’s a pity it was not a male as such a photo with its magnificent antlers would be more interesting.

Many hours I have spent in the eagles hides also resulted in the most interesting and best pictures of a European roe deer. Roe deer and their goats approached so close that the entire frame was filled. Up to now I had a documentary set of pictures of the species which had been changed, and thus the gallery was rebuilt and goes to the news.

This time new photos were taken while I was looking for another places that could be interesting due to the possibility of birds that may be found there. Early in the morning, coming very slowly closer and closer I approached a beautiful deer. I have taken pictures of the buck, as for now my best photos of the species, and as a result changes in the gallery have been introduced. It is a pity that I was not able to record its specific “barking” when it was leaving.

Awaiting bluethroats, around our lookout we heard voices of pheasants and roebucks. It was the time and a place to complete the galleries of these animals with recordings of their voices. If they were not so far, the quality of the recording would be better, but for many years I had no such an opportunity so I could not miss it and added the first soundtrack to these galleries. With sounds it is  a bit like with photos when it comes to an improvement of a gallery. There are needed a few meetings at close range to take good photos, to create interesting galleries that show animals in different situations, with a variety of lighting. And never the same shots have been taken - it's probably the most valuable in nature photography that we do not know what and when is likely to be captured. New opportunities for even more interesting shots continue to surprise…
