Birds > Passerine > Aquatic warbler Acrocephalus paludicola

info

Aquatic warbler finally went to my collection Polish fauna. Finally because i've already tried to photograph it, but my biggest achievement to this moment was hearing the voice of a male without photographing it. Without help and kindness it would still be my plan to photograph Aquatic warbler. Many thanks to Mrs. Ewa and Ania and Mr. Waldek because only thanks to their help, knowledge and care for Aquatic Warbler breeding grounds, the presented gallery was created. I was also a bit lucky. The first 5 hours of waiting for Aquatic Warbler were not optimistic. The wind was quite strong and we had the impression that we were sitting masked in the bird desert. Nothing happened at all. In the meantime, to make matters worse, it rained for a moment and there was no indication that the bird would appear. Aquatic Warblers inhabit open swampy areas, wet meadows with single, short shrubs and grasses up to half a meter high. This strong wind caused that a dozen grams of filigree bird remained hidden in the grass on the ground. Fortunately, an hour before sunset, the wind died down and the entire wetland meadow came alive, and most importantly there was an Aquatic Warbler, or more precisely a male Aquatic Warbler. The first pictures are created and the better voice recording. We heard the Aquatic Warbler before (Jacek best regards), but from a fairly distant distance in the blowing wind, the voice recording was of a  very poor quality. It was worth stopping for a moment to have a complete gallery with the sound of this rare bird. In recent years, Aquatic Warbler has been included in comprehensive species protection programs due to the radical decline in the population. Who knows, or thanks to the commitment of many people, you can still observe Aquatic Warbler in Poland. For me it is a photographed 384 species of bird belonging to the fauna of Poland, so another great holiday on (384/462). Species included in the Polish fauna are of greater importance to me than foreign, exotic ones. The years of waiting for the moment of the first meeting with Aquatic Warbler are intensified by the emotions associated with the creation of the first photos of Aquatic Warbler. Aquatic Warbler habitats in Poland constitute about a quarter of the entire world population of this species. Estimates of Aquatic Warbler are quite accurate, because singing males count, which are very active on their small terrain, assuming that the strong wind is not blowing of course :-). Males do not participate in the education of young. It would be quite exhausting for a male who may be the father of young in many nests in the area. Aquatic Warbler flies from Poland from European lairs for the winter and hibernates in Senegal on a fairly small area. The decreasing Aquatic Warbler breeding surfaces, the long exhausting migration means that the future of the Aquatic Warbler is still not optimistic ...
