Australia surprised me many times with the wealth of fauna and flora or broad areas so that it makes me feel I have to come back there. Meeting with the Sharp-tailed sandpiper was another nice surprise. When we were driving almost the whole day through the bush we passed at most some small ponds, lakes, but more often we saw kangaroos and parrots than a representative of waterfowl. And suddenly came out a large lake where stilts and sandpipers were feeding on the shore, and in the distance we could see another flocks of waterfowl. So far all of my sandpipers I photographed on the Baltic Sea while they were migrating. There in Australia, in February, in the middle of hot summer, at a temperature over 30 degrees on the lake I was watching sandpipers, which, as it happened in Australia, allowed me to take a few photos with no problem. Only the desire to meet other species caused the gallery presented here is quite modest.
