After I had identified this species and found the Polish name of this bird I was curious why it was given such a name - the Apostlebird. According to the information I have found the Apostle is a gregarious bird and its flock mostly consists of just 12 specimens. So biblical roots of the name are limited to the connotations associated with the herd behavior of the bird and the number of apostles. I am far from drawing any absolute conclusions and denying or confirming this theory, but on the basis of several days communing with birds in Australia and watching them I assure you that they had been seen several times in a very different numerically groups. Once during breakfast next to our car appeared a group of 4-6 individuals. Another time, at dawn three birds could be seen in the company of blue-faced honeyeater (the voice recording attached). Yet another time on the tree there were so many Apostles that it was difficult to count them, or seek out, but the noises suggested dozens of individuals. So, at least those specimens that I photographed did not behave accordingly to the name given to them. In case of these birds does not occur sex dimorphism. The close up can show sometimes predatory aggressive look, although they feed on seeds and insects. They are definitely gregarious birds and quite noisy. The Apostlebird can be found in eastern Australia, and it weighs  about 120 grams.
