It occurs in Europe, only in the northern part. There I found it - in northern Norway. Unfortunately, the contact was only once and it was not long, so I could take only few images to open the gallery of this species on my website. Very similar to the common redpoll. For me, the most distinctive difference between these species is the beak that is much smaller in case of the arctic redpoll. Its weight reaches 15 grams, and its wingspan is several centimeters.

Finally, there was an opportunity to improve my documentary gallery of the hoary redpoll. And it happened during a short trip to photograph the northern lights (aurora borealis). During the day it was a kind of problem to spend time until the evening, when there was a chance to see the aurora. Fortunately, the Finns fed the birds, so there was also an opportunity to watch hoary redpolls. There were not many birds. The sparrows, bullfinches and willow tits came to the feeders, apart from the redpolls.
