The eared Pygmy-tyrant is a „bird fingerling”. It is tiny and I’m happy that regardless of the fact that there was only one encounter I managed to take some interesting pictures. It let me approach it so close that I managed to take the photos presented here. I was also lucky to be able to set the focus. Numerous leaves and twigs made this task much more difficult, but although the bird would jump from one twig onto another, it behaved peacefully. Considering its size, the bird should be presented in the macro gallery. The weight of an eared Pygmy-tyrant is about 5 grams, and the length of its body is about 7 cm.
