The black-necked grebe - the last representative of the grebe family belonging to the Polish fauna goes to my gallery, what is more with its sound recorded on my own. This time taking pictures was easier than recording the voice of the bird. It is a quite skittish bird species, cautious and rare in our country, so when informed that it can be photographed in Warsaw, I went there full of doubts and did not believe that good photos might be taken. In such a large agglomeration, in a rather noisy and busy area, with passing cars, sounds of trains, planes, and the very noisy colony of black-headed gulls, all that made difficult recording the sounds of the black-necked grebe. They did not give sounds too often, but I tried several times and a dozen or so seconds were recorded. But actually I went there for another reason, not for sounds recordings. Ironically, what was disturbing when  I tried to record  the voice, all these urbanized factors made the grebes accustomed to humans and they were not skittish. All photos were taken without camouflaging. It took me a little patience and calmness to observe the birds swimming up from time to time at the distance that I was able to take the pictures that were more than good. Well, to enjoy such moments in the nature with such beautiful birds it does not happen very often in our country. Photographing black-necked grebes reminded me Iceland, where I had the oportunity to photograph horned grebes (without that acoustic urban background of course). There was the same problem with shooting as the coastline was quite steep. I was waiting for such a unique moment for a long time, but to have the pictures you can see on my website now it was worth waiting. There is a 4-star initiating gallery of the black-necked grebe on my website. May always happen like this...
