This bird made an amazing impression on me. The majestic silhouette of the bird could be seen in Tanzania only once during the whole trip. This time we stayed at an altitude of 2,600 meters. The night was so cold that I woke up due to such low temperature shortly after five o'clock. It was still quite dark and reportedly one degree above zero. After a quarter or so a white-necked raven appeared. I slowly returned to a tent to take my camera and a brighter lens of 300, maybe I would be able to take a picture of this amazing bird, I thought. I sat on the grass and was patiently waiting for the light. It was a pity I did not take my recording equipment. The raven gave beautiful and loud sounds. Feared that I would scare the bird away, I abandoned the idea of going back to the tent for the set. The raven stayed there long enough and close enough that the first correct photos could be taken. Due to lack of light most of the pictures went to the trash, but some of them probably reflect my fascination with this bird. Eventually soft morning light made it easier to capture this representative of the family Corvidae.
