Another species of owl goes into my gallery, thanks to mere human Kindness and spontaneity (Sławek thank you for the hint and best regards, because nowadays kindness and simple enjoying our avian fauna of nature photographers getting harder and harder, it replaces the often misunderstood rivalry and competition. Unfortunately, such times). The place where I photographed long-earder owls was quite shocking. Just imagine a busy street with heavy traffic and lots of people passing by and owls sitting at the top of pine-trees paying absolutely no attention to what was going on. An amazing experience, quite different from what I have encountered so far in my quest of photographing birds in Poland. The owls, and there were six of them, were asleep. The difficulty in photographing them was that I had to wait for the owl to wake up and turn its head, so that I could see it. The place was also amazing because of the local people. Having seen my tripod and the lens searching for birds they did their best to help me find the owls. Who knows, maybe the presence of owls positively affects people? Supposedly, during the winter there could be over a dozen of them there. Long-eared owls achieve weight of a bit more than 0.25 kilograms and a wingspan of less than a meter. Surely I will have to go back to that an amazing place in the winter and add some winter scenery photos to my gallery. And perhaps with some better light. as this time it wasn't perfect.

Finally, after a few years it happened to me that my second encounter with the long-eared owl  took place. A situation with taking the photos was very similar to that first one. This time I would like to give my thanks to Robert for the hint what coordinates must be entered for navigation. And just like years ago - the surprise of passing people seeing tripods and long lenses: “what are the guys photographing there?”. It was said that  even a dozen or so long-eared owls were seen in this place. We managed to observe 5 individuals. The encounter with owls is always amazing. These big ruby hypnotic eyes that calmly observe our attempts to find the best place to take a picture without twigs. That was the most difficult matter. The owls that were sitting in the higher parts of the trees were out of reach of our lenses. The view was not as it should be and there were numerous branches that made only the outline of the bird visible through the binoculars. But it should be said, after all, that the trip must be considered very successful. The gallery so far documentary and quite monotonous changed its content so much that its status was upgraded to good. There is only one picture from the old gallery. Such a meeting must be noted in the news - after all it is an owl, not another sparrow!

The photo season of 2019 can be considered open, what is more, with changes in the owl gallery. The owls are the birds I can never resist, so having learnt about the place they occur I had to find time and try my luck. This time, my third meeting took place… at the cemetery. The previous photos were taken in a kindergarten park and in a hospital car park. As you can see, the  long-eared owls do not avoid people so having known where they are, just keep your fingers crossed so that they sit in a place where the entire silhouette of the bird is well presented and that the light is good. This time I was luckier than before and the gallery has been rebuilt. This three-month break in taking photos allowed me to reorder the website and make a number of changes in many galleries. Finally, it was time to complete "key words" and take full advantage of the site's capabilities. Although the work is still in progress, and only the Polish-language version is completed, but you can already watch "subsets" of bird species associated with previous expeditions.
