Here we have the little bittern, which is the smallest representative of the heron family Ardeidae in Poland. Its weight is about 150 grams and a wingspan about 55 centimeters. Taking into account that in Poland it is a very rare species and a secret hiding bird, having completed such an exhibition which I present to you seems impossible, at least for me with my scarce resources of time. But I succeeded! And all that, as it often happens with my shooting, thanks to other friendly nature lovers that discovered and made available to me such an unusual place. Jacek, I greet you cordially and thank you for the invitation. Time I have spent on the inconspicuous bench in your “bittern” hide will stay for long in my memory. I am aware of how much knowledge, patience and experience is needed and that it takes a good deal of work and time to create such good conditions for shooting like this. I am grateful especially because, when it comes to emotions this time there was differently than "while mushrooming", and memory cards were full. Being so close to the birds, it is hardly possible to describe, but only presented photos may show how extraordinary the situation was. Additionally, their sexual dimorphism which is so clear makes these already enough interesting pictures initiating the little bittern gallery on my website even more varied. The resulting images have composed one of the most interesting display on my website. Of course – the little bittern, as a new species and with such an impressive portfolio opening the gallery, goes to the news, where probably will stay for long time either because of positive impressions and emotions that accompanied me when taking photos, or because of such a positive reception of presented images. But I invite you to see for yourself...
