I happened to come across the brolga only once. A couple of adult cranes together with one almost brought up young preyed calmly on quite a large area allowing me to make a few photos. Unfortunately, the distance was quite long and presented pictures needed quite appreciable cropping. I was waiting for a while for scenery to change and, as it turned out, it was worth it. Cranes suddenly rose up the flight, not only they made it possible to take a dynamic photos, and this is the essence of nature photography, but also they reduced the distance between us flying over. As for their behavior (several dozen of minutes of observation) it did not differ from our cranes. They were ery cautious, timid, easily took their wings off the ground. They are slightly smaller than our cranes because their body weight is near 6-7 pounds and a wingspan do not exceed two meters. We walked nearby, where stretched a broad area where we could see silhouettes of about 10 feeding birds. Unfortunately it was too far away to take a photo even with the converter. So I publish the second species of the family of cranes and the bird can be seen only in Australia. Welcome ...
