The Red-billed Gull quite commonly occurred in Australia and actually it would be placed  in a list of Australian animals with the descriptions of pictures taken in Australia  and in exchange oystercatchers should be moved to the specification of animals from  New Zealand, because that was where I took most of photos of this species. It sounds quite funny but it really was like that and probably will not change. The Red-billed Gull in Australia was as common as our  Black-headed Gull on the Baltic Sea, which is slightly heavier than red-billed gull  but even from not too long distance it is difficult to distinguish them.
