I had the opportunity to photograph the Fluttering Shearwater during the ferry from the southern to the northern island of New Zealand. Unfortunately it kept far away from us and the wind was so strong that I perceive it as a miracle that any pictures are in focus. My camera on a tripod quivered so much that all the staff would have fall down if I did not hold it firmly. For the Shearwater the wind was not a problem. While soaring it looked around carefully searching for food.
