It is futile to seek for Nuthatch in our forests. He only occurs in Northern Amrecia. It is hard to describe my astonishment and joy, photographing the birds near Montreal, when I suddenly spotted the characteristic moves of the Nuthatch. He is my favorite in forests and parks, which I can always count on in places where no other birds appear. He did not let me down in Canada as well. Despite of the similar size and feeding habits they are very different when it comes to feathers (compare it yourself). Being in another park I have heard the characteristic sounds of the White-breasted Nuthatch, and very similar to our nuthatch, but I could not see it. Maybe, because I was photographing the Sharp-shinned Hawk and all the small birds, his potential prey, kept at a distance. Who knows, how many types of nuthatch I will photograph with time to present them to you...
