Observations of such behavior in a egret must be recorded in the species gallery information and added to the website’s news section. This egret completely surprised me with its highly unusual hunting style. Typically, we see egrets as motionless, focused figures, patiently waiting for the right moment to strike swiftly at a passing fish. However, this time, it was entirely different. This egret adopted a completely different strategy—instead of waiting, it actively ran and flew after the fish, fully immersed in the chase. Its chaotic, almost comical movements resembled playful excitement rather than traditional hunting. Moreover, the bird was so focused on catching its prey that it occasionally approached passing tourists at an unexpectedly close distance. At one point, it even seemed surprised by its own proximity—suddenly increasing the gap, only to return moments later to its frantic pursuit. The Reddish egret in a completely new, unexpected light—full of energy, surprises, and hunting in a truly unconventional style!
