Photographing hummingbirds in Mexico was a huge disappointment for me. The fauna of Mexico includes 58 species of hummingbirds, 13 of which are endemic. In total, there are over 350 species of hummingbirds in the world. It was not a typical birding trip, but I hoped that in a country with such a large number of hummingbird species, there would be a place where they are fed from special drinkers bird feeder and only there good photos could be taken, like in Cuba or Costa Rica. There were no such places, and photographing hummingbirds in the forest is more or less like going to the forest to photograph bees with a telephoto lens. I only managed to take pictures of two representatives of hummingbird species of Mexico. I added them as a souvenir and to show the difference between the pictures taken, where hummingbirds can be admired from a dozen or so centimeters around the bird feeder, and those, which are afraid of predators (mainly Pygmy-Owl) and not used to humans, are still hidden in dense bushes and avoid open spaces. So, for those who want to photograph hummingbirds, it is worth before departure to check carefully how it will be prepared, and I for my part recommend Costa Rica
