Last minute news-11/12-2022 – Botswana

And again, a new gallery was created by accident – the one of the rough-legged hawk. The Baltic Sea cruise we had planned to  take was canceled due to ship failure, so we decided to go from Łeba to the Hel Peninsula. On a quiet country road we could see buzzards , and also rough-legged hawks, which in Poland can be observed almost exclusively during migration. Once, during the journey, a few meters from the road an adult white-tailed eagle together with ravens  calmly preyed on dead roe-deer.

Its amazing beak is something really distinguishing from other birds. The Royal Spoonbill is a carnivorous bird, feeds on crustaceans, frogs and fish which catches with a characteristic quick, firm motion while wading in the shallows. In Australia it occurs in northern and eastern parts. Out of Australia it can be found in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. The Royal Spoonbill’s weight is about 1.7 kg and it is about 80 centimeters tall.

Last minute news- Dominican Republic – 11/2021
The Royal tern gallery has finally been supplied with more interesting and better photos. There are not many of them, because in the Dominican Republic I had one short meeting with a king tern, but better pictures and recording of the voice of the tern were made. Interestingly, it was one species of bird in the Dominican Republic in which I noticed wedding rings.
Last minute news-03/2022 Mexico

Although I managed to capture many species of hummingbirds, you can find there one description of all 22 species photographed in Costa Rica together. This time my expedition took longer and the light was better, I had therefore an opportunity to take many dynamic pictures. It is interesting that driving around Costa Rica after traveling several kilometers there were species of hummingbirds completely different from those we could observe earlier.

It belongs to the doves occurring in the tropical zone of Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Mexico as well as Trinidad and Tobago. They weigh up to 56 gram, and their body length is about 18 cm. Unfortunately I did not have many opportunities to photograph this bird, although it is said to be quite common…
