Red-necked Francolin
Galliformes
If I managed to avoid mistakes in identification, seven species of francolines were photographed in Tanzania (handsome francolin, red-necked spurfowl, crested francolin, coqui francolin, Hildebrandt's francolin, grey-breasted spurfowl and yellow-necked spurfowl - a passage common to all these galleries). We joked that a day without a francolin was a lost day. They were appearing every so often and were quite skittish. Sometimes patience paid off as the birds came out of the thicket and better photos were taken. Bardzo dobre |
Red-necked Grebe
Podicipediformes
I always enjoy meeting a new species, especially if the species is not covered in my bird sub- galleries. So far, I’ve photographed two species of grebes family, as was the case with the Loons . Thus, the red-necked grebe finally gets to my gallery. Finally, because for some time I had been looking for places where you can meet it . Patience pays off as you can see. I wish all the other newly founded galleries had a starter portfolio of images . Bardzo dobre |
Red-necked phalarope
Charadriiformes
An interesting dainty bird feeding on water in the coastal zone, but also on ponds and lakes. Interesting for two reasons, apart from its charm of course. Always when I was sitting quietly on the shore of a lake it swam up after a while at a distance that enabled me to take a satisfactory picture. And this distance had to be just a few meters, because it is quite small bird. Not much bigger than a sparrow, as its weight is about 45 grams, and the wingspan is about 35 cm. Bardzo dobre |

Red-rumped Swallow
Passerine
When it comes to photographing swallows, the problem is the same around the whole Word. It unassuming posture, high speed require a miracle to produce a clear shot of this bird. Other typical shots of swallows present them seated on electrical wires. This time I managed to take a few pictures of this new representative of the Hirundinidae family in flight. With its size it resembles the commonly found sparrow, because its weight is about 30 grams, its wingspan is about 30 cm. Of course, it is impossible to mistake these birds in flight. Bardzo dobre |

Red-tailed Black Cockatoo
Parrots
In the evening while we were planning the last day of our workshop Hans quite confidently suggested this species. Looking at the big parrots with bright red or yellow feathers underside the tail I had nothing against it, of course. They seemed to me very exotic and interesting. We had known each other to such extent that I could believe his promises as he generally hit the spot, and when he used the phrase "maybe" he meant it would happen most probably. Initially we took photos of parrots outside the city, in the hills. Bardzo dobre |
