The presented photos of the Pale Swift were taken in Dubrovnik at the end of May 2022. Until  that time it had been found in Poland twice time. There were a lot of swifts in Dubrovnik at that time. Overhead flew dozens, if not hundreds of birds among which dominated the Alpine Swift. (391/467)

Palmchat
Passerine

We saw Palmchats often, sometimes whole flocks of Palmchats flew over our heads. Once, thanks to such a flight, accidentally, it was possible to record the sound of a herd of Palmchat. Although there were many observations of Palmchats and they are a common species in the Dominican Republic, they were not entice, they were very shy and all the photos were taken during other photo sessions of the case.

Paradise Shelduck
Anseriformes

A beautiful duck, usually seen in pairs. There is a clear sexual dimorphism. Following the example of medieval nomenclature, the female has a white plumage of the head. And why is it the model of the Middle Ages, because women were said to be white-headed. The female has a snow-white head. The plumage of the male is colorful but not so bright. The Paradise Shelduck can weigh up to 2 kilograms. I saw them in quite large flocks, that could be certainly counted in dozens, if not more.

Parasitic jaeger
Charadriiformes

Unfortunately parasitic jaegers were not as easy to photograph as the other species. I have seen them several times from a quite significant distance as they were trying to get food over meadows where oystercatchers and redshanks nested. From a distance I could see concerned parents collectively repelling the aggressor’s attack. The parasitic jeager nests on the ground. Its weight is below 400 grams, with a wingspan of about 1.2 meters.
