Hoopoe
Bucerotiformes
Everyone, who is into native nature photography, would like to have the hoopoe in their portfolio. It is difficult to be mistaken for any other bird, and its color and behavior makes it one of the most interesting and beautiful species in our country. The hoopoe is a medium-sized bird. Its wingspan is less than 50 cm, its body length is less than 30 cm, and it weighs about 70 grams. The hoopoe flies in a distinctively irregular manner, over meadows and pastures, where you can see it picking its favorite food – insect larvae. Moje ulubione, Bardzo dobre |
Horned grebe
Podicipediformes
In Iceland I had the pleasure to photograph horned grebes a few times. It is slightly larger than our little grebe, as its body weight can be up to 700 grams, with a wingspan of 50 centimeters. Because of its plumage this bird can be seen from a distance. Intense mating plumage is beautiful. Female grebes, as befits an Icelandic birds, let me take photos from the shore of the lake and they were not very skittish. Bardzo dobre |
Horned Lark
Passerine
Mongolian larks and horned larks were common on the boundless plains of Mongolia. With such a difference that Mongolian larks occurred on green, more abundant with grass terrains. As we were driving south towards the Gobi Desert, and on the Gobi Desert itself, we could observe only horned larks. The photographs of the Mongolian lark and the horned lark were always taken by chance and we did not devote to them any separate session. Bardzo dobre |

House crow
Passerine
For the first time I saw a house crow in Sri Lanka. However, in Sri Lanka there were so many other species that I did not devote time to the crow and the gallery of this species was not created. Maybe it is better like this, because this time it was the other way round. In Egypt close to the hotel there were not many species, but among them house crows were found most commonly and were the most numerous. Apparently the birds knew when meals were served, they appeared in the vicinity of the canteen then. Tourists when eating outside had to be really watchful. Bardzo dobre |
House Finch
Passerine
I hope I did not mix the species tagging presented pictures as a House Finch, especially that at the beginning redpoll and housefinch, for a frozen photographer carrying a heavy gear through the snow, might have seen as a one species. That's when the book “Birds of Northern America” which I was given by my guide of Montreal parks as a gift – Guy, thank you and greetings!, proved useful. Dostateczne |
