Well, I have already had opportunities to photograph birds in various places and strange circumstances, but having been protected by a security guard equipped with a kalashnikov - not so far. But everything has to happen for the first time. This situation took place in Tanzania. We came to the campsite, which this time turned out to be a small lawn located among trees at an altitude of about 2,600 meters. Well, except for grass and beautiful greenery there was no tourist infrastructure.

Mourning Dove
Columbidae
While photographing birds in canadian parks, when I first saw it, I thought it was our European Collared Dove, which being so common in our land it must also inhabit other continents. The difference could have been noticed after a moment of observation. Maybe, there are not many of the photographs in the gallery, but they are good enough to make your own comparison easy. Mourning Dove is definitely smaller. It weighs 100-150 grams, while European Collared Dove weighs 150-200 grams. Its wing span is 45 centimeters, it is 60 for our dove. Dobre |

My output from this family of birds so far is two species, photographed in Thailand and Srilanka (chickadees). So not much. In Ecuador, I managed to photograph 8 species (antpittas)! They are difficult to photograph and without the help of local guides it would have been impossible. The guides had to spend a lot of time beforehand to make them an attraction for observers, photographers. They live naturally on the bottom of a tropical moist forest. They are small, secretive and difficult to see, let alone photograph. Dostateczne |

Muscovy duck
Anseriformes
One short meeting, probably with a runaway from a farm, because this duck is a natural inhabitant of Northern America. It had been seen in Poland before, probably farm runaways, too. The pictures were taken in Holland, where the duck was sitting by the road. It wasn’t at all shy, but when I came too close, it flew away. These ducks can weigh up to 5 kg and the wingspan is up to 75 cm. Bardzo dobre |
