Searching for new species in the rainforest and driving from one place to another, suddenly, on a withered tree trunk near the road we saw several turkey vultures. Well, all I have is another series of documentary pictures with the sky at the background. It was the only encounter with these birds.  It’s good that at least I was more successful with the black vulture. Turkey vultures are a little bigger than black vultures. Their weight can reach 2 kilograms, with a wingspan not exceeding 1.8 m. It lives in both Americas, excluding Canada.
Last minute news -Costa Rica - 12/2015
Well, the galleries of the black vulture and turkey vulture have been modified, but I didn’t manage to take pictures good enough to make me satisfied. However, how can one dedicate his time to the black or turkey vulture when there are so many new species all around. There were many vultures in Costa Rica indeed, they would glide in the air most of the time. But not always, sometimes they sat on the roadside fences, close to human dwellings. The portrait photos of vultures were taken in fact from a distance of less than 10 meters.
Last minute news-03/2019 – Cuba
I could watch these birds in Argentina and Costa Rica. Unfortunately, they were never close enough to take good pictures. In Cuba there were so many of them that we ceased to show our interest in them. They are probably the most numerous representative of Accipitriformes in Cuba. When driving a car, very often a dozen or more of soaring birds could be observed. Fortunately, just by the way, a dozen or so pictures have been created that have changed the gallery's content.
