Alphabetical list

I have a soft spot for and am very sentimental about parrots as it is said in the description to the zebra finch gallery. In Sri Lanca, besides several species of parakeet, there are parrots that are endemic. Two encounters with these parrots lasted quite long and were fruitful enough to let me take many photos and record their voices. This is how the material for the gallery was created and, at least for me, it is so interesting that it also goes to my favorites.

There was no such destination as Sri Lanka on my list of travel plans. This time Tadeusz and Piotr  were those who took the initiative. Our previous trips were interesting, nice and always full of close encounters with nature – so I did not hesitate and made my mind - we have to go! From the very beginning of my stay in Sri Lanka, hour by hour, day after day the country and its inhabitants convinced me that this place was really worth visiting. From our perspective, of course, the most important was to come into contact with nature.

This gallery had to be set due to the fact that it is a species endemic to Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, we only once encountered representatives of this species, and in such a thick fog that it was impossible to take better photo.

It was no problem to find them in the parks where safari was organized. We could watch them really closely, because sometimes they were a few meters from the car. In fact, safaris are especially famous for the elephants and for the less common leopard. Such a "natural" find as a herd of elephants could sometimes cause tourists get stuck in traffic jams. Sometimes people were wondering what we were photographing. On hearing that we are interested in some small birds they reacted with an ironic smile and disappointment.
