Chestnut-breasted Munia
Passerine

It occurs in the northern and north-eastern Australia, Indonesia and New Guinea. It may congregate in large flocks. I managed to meet two munias in the area of Townswille. The munias feed on seeds of cereal crops, they prefer those of larger seeds. Because of their beauty those birds are also bred in cages and aviaries by breeders.

Chestnut-crowned Antpitta
Passerine

My output from this family of birds so far is two species, photographed in Thailand and Srilanka (chickadees). So not much. In Ecuador, I managed to photograph 8 species (antpittas)! They are difficult to photograph and without the help of local guides it would have been impossible. The guides had to spend a lot of time beforehand to make them an attraction for observers, photographers. They live naturally on the bottom of a tropical moist forest. They are small, secretive and difficult to see, let alone photograph.

Chestnut-eared Aracari
Piciformes

Arasari is the second species in the toucan family, which I was able to photograph in the vicinity of Iguazu waterfalls. It is much smaller than the toco toucan as its weight does not exceed 300 grams, but its coloration is much more varied. Despite I could watch it several times, unfortunately, I was not able to take more interesting pictures. It always kept a considerable distance and was often seen high in the treetops, so against the sky. Well, too bad, the bird so "blissfully" colored has such a modest  initial gallery on my website.

Chestnut-headed Oropendola
Passerine

It appears south of Mexico, through Panama and Venezuela at the height of 1000 m above sea level in the zone of rain forests. Like a Montezuma oropendola, it builds nests similar to nests of a weaver, which are icicle-shaped and reach up to one meter in height.  A colony of oropendolas might consist of a few dozen females and several males. Well, there were not many encounters with that oropendola, but they were successful. An interesting gallery has been made.

Chestnut-mandibled Toucan
Piciformes

As in case of hummingbirds, the text linked to toucans describing those taken on the trip to Costa Rica will be common for them all. Also with this group of birds fate turned out to be favorable in terms of pictures as I was able to photograph 4 of 7 species of toucans that occur there in Costa Rica. As usual the result was at different level of success. It happened twice that collared aracari and black-mandibled toucan approached so close to the place where food was laid that to adjust them in the frame in the whole I had to back a few meters away.
