In Spain it is quite common and there were no problems with photographing this bird. It was worse with the sound, because the day I photographed it was very windy and the soundtrack leaves much to be desired.

Black-faced Cuckooshrike
Passerine
Two meetings have resulted in the presented images. The Black-faced Cuckooshrike is a medium sized bird. Its body length is about 33 cm. It occurs in Australia and New Guinea. It is omnivorous: eats fruit, seeds, but also insects and invertebrates. The “face” of the juveniles after leaving the nest is not so well formed as the adults have. It is much smaller. Looking at the presented pictures I guess it happened to me to come across and photograph both: an adult and the young. What is interesting, this species is protected in Australia. Dobre |

Black-faced ibis
Casuariiformes
Black-faced ibises were photographed in Patagonia in three places. The first two locations were on the outskirts of Ushuaia, where they were foraging majestically in the grass. On a cruise while shooting cormorants I had the next opportunity to watch them. I could see ibises incubating eggs in a hollow of a rock. They are quite big. They can reach a weight of 1.5 kilogram, with a wingspan of about 1.1 meters. Dobre |
Black-faced Sandgrouse
Sandgrouse
There are many reasons to be satisfied after my returning from Tanzania. One of them are new galleries of sandgrouses. I remember how hard it was to photograph my first sandgrouses in Fuerteventura or Pallas's Sandgrouse in Mongolia, then taking photos of those birds in Tanzania was a piece of cake. Well, maybe not just like that, because you have to find them, but when driving all day, watching closely it is possible as you can see. It did not happen too often, but only when the birds were found they made an easy object for us to photograph at least for a moment. Bardzo dobre |
Black-headed Bunting
Passerine
A few photos of the black-headed bunting taken in Bulgaria initiates the gallery of this species on my website. Unfortunately, the bird I could observe was not a good-looking individual, moreover the southern light of a hot day was not optimal for taking good pictures. But it is a species belonging to the fauna of Poland and the resulting images are acceptable, then the gallery must be published. Ivo, I hope in spring we will improve photos of this and many other bird species in Bulgaria. Dostateczne |
Black-headed Gull
Charadriiformes
It is likely the most common small gull appearing in our country. It can be spotted at the Baltic Sea, however, the pictures taken, were made at a lake, near a busy road. Very grateful species to photograph. It is very dynamic so exercising your reflexes and predeterming birds behavior gives a variety of possibilities in this case. It weighs around 300 grams with a wingspan of a nearly 1 meter. Bardzo dobre |
