The passage is common to these two species of flamingos photographed in Tanzania - the greater flamingo and the lesser flamingo. These birds were almost always photographed together. To watch thousands of flamingos we went to Lake Natron in northern Tanzania. This is where the majority of the lesser flamingo population lives and reproduces. The lake itself is quite an extraordinary saltwater reservoir. After heavy downpours at rainy season the lake can reach 850 km² with the average depth of several dozen centimeters. During our visit to the lake the coastline was withdrawn many kilometers due to the evaporation of considerable amounts of water. At times only the pink horizon was visible, made up of thousands of birds. However, as we wanted to take good pictures, we camouflaged and waited. Flamingos were easily coming closer and closer and better and better photos were taken. But suddenly all the birds took wings and flew away. I thought that some predator startled them, but when hidden under the net it is difficult to observe the surroundings. When it happened the third time in a row, in the absence of birds, I got up to see what was really going on. After a while I saw a drone, which was the perpetrator of the flamingos' escape. I aimed the lens at the drone, what was noticed by its operator. He immediately increased the height and the intruder disappeared. To take pictures in the National Park on Lake Natron a special  permission is needed.  Watching how speedy the drone was leaving one could guess that the owner did not have such permission. Fortunately, there were still a few opportunities to take photos of flamingos and I have taken so many of them that two interesting galleries were created, one with its own soundtrack.

Another encounter with flamingos again made an incredible impression on me. Thousands of birds forming a pink line on the horizon. As you approached this huge flock you could hear the noise of the flamingo giant flock. The reservoir at the beginning of the rainy season was not yet filled with water, and so it was possible to reduce the distance to the flock and take pictures
