Last minute news-11/12-2022 – Botswana

The gallery of the Pearl-spotted Owlet has changed beyond recognition. During our entire trip, except for Kalahari, it can be said that owls accompanied us all the time. It happened that at a distance of several meters from our tents, Wouter found 4 savannah owls sitting at a height of 3 meters. There were quite a few of these encounters, and three new owl galleries were created, and two lived to see gallery changes. Unfortunately, the photos of the owls at night, were created using artificial light, because during the day these owls are difficult to observe. I write unfortunately, because I am not fond of such photography, although I will admit how, after photographing an African Scops-Owl, a huge Verreaux's Eagle-Owl suddenly appeared a few meters above our heads - it made an incredible impression. A huge owl that appeared silently and just as silently disappeared after a while.
