I have created a gallery of the Amur falcon although it was difficult to take good photos. Falcons were always skittish and kept a significant distance from us, which is a pity as they are very beautiful, little predators. Some magpies trying to penetrate their nest made it possible for me to record the sounds of Amur falcons.
Last minute news - South Africa 02/2017
Upon arriving from Mongolia the Amur falcon’s gallery was created. It was not easy to take photos of these birds there because we did not see them so often. In South Africa it was possible to count them dozens individuals sitting on electric wires. They were wintering there and one could see thousands of them in total. Taking pictures turn out a bit more difficult than watching. Even if they allowed to reduce the distance, the perspective of a bird sitting on a wire with a white sky in the background, it is not what one would expect. But over the course of two weeks, after many attempts I managed to take some photos enriching so far modest gallery of the Amur falcon’s.
