info
In Poland during my photo session on Hel I was close to contacting with this bird for the first time. There was only one representative of this species on the peninsula. Unfortunately I failed. The more I was surprised by how it was easy to photograph this bird in Iceland. Glaucous gull occurs mainly in the west of Iceland, and its population is estimated at 10-15 thousand couples. It happened to me to see whole colonies of glaucous gulls, but sometimes they were in very inaccessible places. Luckily however I also had the opportunity to take my first images of this species to present them in the gallery. This gull is not a small bird. Its weight can range from 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms with a wingspan of 1.5 meters.

This time we spend some time on watching glaucous gull. Near the small harbor, on the top of the high hill the glaucous gull had the largest colony in Iceland. There were hundreds of these birds in this place. They were not skittish and so many pictures were taken that it was difficult to sort out the photos when choosing for the gallery. A recording of the gull's voice was also made. The gallery has changed its status from documentary to very good.
