info
In the area where we were photographing, there was a huge number of long-legged buzzards. When we were passing subsequent villages, there was no single kilometer, where a long-legged buzzard could not be seen. Some of the pictures were taken exactly that way. The long-legged buzzard appeared in the hide practically a single time, just in front of the lenses. A few times it appeared also in the background. It is not very much larger than our common buzzard. It has a wingspan of about 135 cm, with a weight of around 1.5 kg. They are beautiful and I’m glad I managed to take a few dynamic shots in good lighting. In Turkey you don’t have to wait in a hide for long to see a long-legged buzzard. It is enough to have a car and travel calmly for a while. Of course it cannot be seen everywhere in Turkey, but a local guide will advise you on where to go to see it. When you see it by the roadside it is good to prepare the camera so that when you go near it, you don’t have to make too many moves that could startle it. That’s how the majority of photos presented here were taken.
