While I was sitting in an absolute darkness in a bee-eater's watching booth, right before the sunrise he was the only one to keep me company with his singing. In the morning, like our skylark, he would sit on a standing out rock and sing with engagement throughout whole neighbourhood. While I was recording other sounds he interrupted the rightful recording artists, but how was he supposed to know about his burdensome impact. He was such a frequent visitor that there was no problem with catching him “on tape”, he simply always performed in the background. In Poland Calandra Lark is very rare. Its counterpart on our fields and meadows is a Nightingale, when is comes to behavior and the voice. Calandra Lark weighs around 60 grams with a wingspan of around 30 centimeters.
