Again an example of a “gallery” based on one “contact”, registrating picture. One must start with something to improve the gallery of each species, as I stated that at the beginning. Let's hope it will be so and Ringed Plover's gallery, as a species, will change its aspect on my site. For now I stick to this one picture taken in a bad light from too big of a distance. And it was taken in the morning awaiting for a Black Sotrk to arrive. After that the Ringed Plovers immediately flew away and did not come back as the Stork, for couple of hours, took over their turv. Common Ringed Plovers are filigree birds from a family of Charadriidae. They weigh around 60 grams with a wingspan of around 50 centimeters.

And so it happened. The gallery has changed its image radically, both from a qualitative and quantitative point of view. One walk by the sea at the sunrise was enough. Without camouflage or a hide, among morning strollers on the beach I managed to take a few photos of this tiny bird. The mass of a few dozen grams of this bird, its build and behavior make us think of these birds as “teddy birds”. Like the Long-tailed Tit or the Common Kingfisher, this bird resembles a beautiful teddy bird, well, at least I have such associations. Common Ringed Plovers are very skittish, so I’m even more satisfied by the fact that I managed to photograph it, especially that the Little Ringed Plover has a quite some gallery on my website. Who knows, maybe I will be lucky to capture also other plovers to make this website more attractive and to present a comparison of representatives of the same subfamily.

Well, it did not take a long time to make a significant change in this gallery. Not so long ago I could not hide my delight with the changes in this gallery, which I managed to publish despite walkers in Świnoujście who made my shooting extremely hard. And what a surprise. Not only I was able to take another photos, but also the plovers were taken much closer, in the more interesting light and scenery. Present "sandy" Ringed Plover’s gallery, has been updated with photos in different environments and colors of light. See for yourself ...

I have added a few photos of the common ringed plover which I took in Iceland. Maybe it was not a commonly occurring species, but as I got up at 5 am (despite the early hour it was a few hours after the sunrise) to photograph common redshanks and European golden plovers, common ringed plovers literally accompanied me marching in front of me and always keeping the same distance. On other occasions they fed on the beach together with purple sandpipers.

After the visit to Mikoszewo, the gallery was rebuilt. Plovers rarely appeared, but when they appeared, they came very close to photographers lying on the seashore.
